This week’s photo shows waste paper sludge after it has been agglomerated and dried.

This waste paper sludge comes from a paper recycling plant after having gone through processing to be reintroduced into the paper making process. Considered a waste, the paper fibers are too short to allow being put back into the paper making process. FEECO helped a company take this waste paper sludge and turn it into a value-added product: a paper-based mulch for use in the lawn and garden industry.

After feasibility testing, product development, and process development, FEECO helped this company to take their idea and bring it to full-scale production. This previously landfilled waste is now a value-added product, and gets shipped around the country to lawn and garden centers.

FEECO has been helping companies take their waste materials and turn them into value-added products for over 60 years. For more information on FEECO’s waste transformation capabilities, contact us today!
