Our photo this week shows wear on a rotary drum tire, a common problem resolved through a reconditioning process known as tire grinding.

Over time, tires begin to wear and consequently, may show ridges, pitting grooves, or overall uneven surface texture. FEECO, though, has a dedicated team of maintenance and service technicians who refurbish tires and other load-bearing surfaces to work at their maximum capacity. Utilizing specialized equipment, FEECO technicians can travel to your facility and repair any brand of equipment. If the problem is caught promptly, tire grinding can often be performed while the unit is still in operation.

Wear that begins with tires can hastily spread to the rest of the drum and damage other equipment. Thus, it is recommended that operators routinely check tire surfaces for wear as a preventative measure. The overall tire grinding process not only restores equipment back to its full functionality, but also helps to extend the machine’s life.
