This week’s photo shows limestone pellets.

Agglomeration is the process of particle size enlargement – collecting material fines in a mass via pressure or non-pressure techniques. Agglomeration offers many benefits, from eliminating dust and preventing segregation, to increasing density and eradicating landfill wastes.

Limestone is a material that is frequently pelletized, or agglomerated, due to the benefits this process offers. Pelletized limestone offers improved product handling, transportation, and use, as opposed to its dusty, raw powder form. It also ensures proper application to fields, as no product is lost via dust.

For over 60 years, FEECO has agglomerated countless materials and has provided equipment and solutions to meet customer’s agglomeration needs. Though limestone is just one example of a material agglomerated at FEECO, the possibilities are infinite. FEECO has also agglomerated materials like gypsum, pesticides, sodium sulfate, silicon, raw glass mix, ash, coal and many, many more.

FEECO custom-designs and fabricates various agglomeration systems and equipment, including disc pelletizers, paddle mixers, pin mixers, agglomerators and granulators.
