This week’s photo shows a sample of clumped limestone.

Limestone, like other naturally occurring materials, is susceptible to agglomeration processing challenges, clumping included.  For this reason, testing is often carried out to become familiar with the unique characteristics of that specific limestone source and any potential problems it might pose.

Testing in a feasibility center like FEECO’s will not only help predict the material’s behavior in a process setting, but will also allow fine-tuning of process variables. Thus, through testing, our lab technicians can adjust the agglomeration process and ultimately provide the pelletization “recipe for success” unique to your limestone sample.

FEECO has worked with limestone in the Innovation Center for over 70 years, and has extensive processing knowledge, be it in pelletization, drying, and even material handling solutions. For more in-depth information on limestone testing at FEECO, contact us today!
