Pin mixers are a diverse industrial mixing solution, ideal for blending, conditioning, agglomerating, and de-dusting fine materials. They can work as a stand-alone piece of equipment, or as a precursor to pelletization on a disc pelletizer.
Here’s how they look and function: multiple pins are attached to a single shaft, spanning the entire length of it. The shaft rotates at a constant speed and mixes the material feedstock and binding agent. The centrifugal force of the rotating pins removes air and decreases water volume between the material fines. This process creates a densified product through the use of motion.
