Our photo this week shows an NPK fertilizer granulation plant. The photo was taken around the early 1960s and showcases a rotary dryer (the larger drum on the bottom), and a granulation drum (the smaller one above the dryer).

Now a typical NPK granulation process, this system was the latest technology in granulation at the time, revolutionizing the fertilizer industry. This process of granulating raw materials, allowed for easier handling of fertilizer product, improved product performance, and less product loss due to dust.

After it was developed, FEECO was among the first companies to start bringing this technology and equipment to fertilizer plants around the country. FEECO has helped hundreds of plants to convert their old processes to this new granulation process.

FEECO has been a pioneer in the fertilizer industry for over 60 years. For more information on equipment and processes, contact us today.
