Today’s photo highlights a rotary dryer in FEECO’s Fabrication Facility. The drum was recently painted, and will soon be ready for shipment.

This particular dryer features our direct drive option, the mechanism that causes the drum to rotate. It eliminates the need for a girth gear or sprocket, and ultimately reduces maintenance costs. The direct drive setup is typically used for small to medium size dryers with motors up to 75 horsepower.

In addition to direct drive assemblies, FEECO also offers chain and sprocket, gear and pinion, and friction drive options. The ideal drive assembly varies on the drum size and horsepower, overall.
