Organics granulation is a sustainable way to aid in nutrient management and the prevention of run-off. It is particularly beneficial to the agriculture industry, because it transforms a waste that would otherwise incur waste management costs and potentially result in harmful run-off due to over application, into a marketable, more easily-handled product.

The transformation of raw animal manure into dry fertilizer granules provides many benefits, including:

    • Convenient storage– dry granules can be stored and used as needed, as opposed to their raw manure counterpart, which must be used immediately to reap the benefits.
    • Improved product handling– granules are dry and compact, compared to raw manure. Thus, they are more easily handled, applied, and transported. Dry granules are also odor-free, so the offensive smell associated with raw manure is mitigated.
    • Reduced waste management costs – raw manure can incur waste management costs and is particularly costly to transport due to its high water content. Dry granules can be stored on-farm and are much less costly to transport if needed.
    • Reduced runoff – The over application of raw manure results in excess nutrients leaching from the soil and potentially harming the surrounding environment. Dry granules aid in the prevention of run-off, because they are used only as needed.
