This week’s highlighted resource is an infographic on frac sand drying.

The frac sand industry is booming, with new plants going up all over the Southern US to support in-basin sand needs. Drying is a critical step in preparing frac sand for use as a proppant. This infographic gives an overview on rotary dryers – the industry standard for frac sand dryers – and covers why they are often chosen over fluid bed dryers. It also covers some of the design considerations that need to be taken into account when engineering a dryer for frac sand.
