This week’s photo shows welders installing flights in a rotary dryer. FEECO has a respected name in the thermal processing industry, supplying customers with not only rotary dryers and coolers, but with rotary calciners and kilns too.

Flights are located on the drum’s interior and are designed to maximize efficiency by increasing contact between the material and air. Flights play a crucial role in the process of drying and cooling materials. As the drum rotates, material flows off of the flights and comes into contact with heated or cooled air, maximizing heat transfer.
