In this week’s photo, a crane is hoisting a rotary dryer onto a semi-truck bed. The semi-truck will travel at night from Green Bay, WI to Lacrosse, WI, and from there, will be loaded onto a barge. The dryer will then make its way down south on the Mississippi River to its end destination at the customer’s processing facility.

Transporting robust equipment is no easy task. The pictured dryer weighs in at 226,000 pounds, and stands 100 feet in length (that’s over the length of an NBA basketball court and the weight of about 16 elephants!).

While this drum, and the majority of equipment manufactured at FEECO, does not fit in an average shipping container, FEECO has successfully transported equipment internationally since our founding in 1951. Logistics plays a major role in the process; FEECO relies on a freight-forward company to transport our equipment to each and every customer, no matter the location.  This allows us to focus our attention on custom design and manufacturing, while ensuring our equipment is transported safely and efficiently.
