FEECO Process & Bioresources Sales Engineer, Nick Reckinger, will be presenting at the California Bioresources Alliance Symposium being held virtually November 18th-19th.

Reckinger will be discussing FEECO granulation technology and its application to organic wastes such as digested dairy manure, chicken litter, and biosolids.

The symposium is held annually to discuss key issues around managing organic wastes in the state of California and covers materials ranging from manure and biosolids, to food and agricultural wastes.

The event is hosted by the EPA Pacific Southwest and U.C. Davis, and will include representatives from a variety of California-based entities, including Natural Resources Conservation Service, University of California Davis, State Water Resources Control Board, and many more.

FEECO has an extensive history in converting organic wastes into value-added products, with projects all over the country. Most recently FEECO built a complete on-farm granulation plant for processing digested dairy manure into a premium fertilizer product.

In addition to nutrient recovery, FEECO has also been working with large-scale dairy farms to process their manure solids into a dried manure solids bedding product.

The recovery and reuse of organic wastes containing valuable components such as nutrients and organic matter is becoming increasingly important in the pursuit of a sustainable, circular economy. The ability to reuse these valuable parts prevents them from going to waste and potentially harming the environment, while also keeping important resources in circulation.

Reckinger will be speaking in the Bioproducts session the morning of November 19th. Presentations are typically available on the EPA website following the event for those interested in viewing them.
