Mixing & Agglomeration
From de-dusting to producing agglomerated granules from graphite fines, FEECO offers several types of agitation agglomeration equipment to convert graphitic fines and powders into more easily handled and transportable forms.
Pin mixers are ideal for de-dusting graphite fines and conditioning material prior to a disc pelletizer in a larger agglomeration setup.
Pugmill (paddle) mixers are available for homogeneously mixing graphite with binders or additives.
Rotary Dryers & Coolers
Rotary dryers and coolers offer an efficient approach to high-capacity drying and cooling graphite materials. From graphite concentrate drying to cooling thermally treated graphite, dryers and coolers are available in both direct and indirect configurations. Direct dryers can be configured for co-current or counter-current flow.
Fluid bed dryers offer an effective option for more gentle drying requirements.
Rotary Kilns
Whether supporting calcination, carbonization, or thermal treatment of graphite and carbon precursor materials, FEECO direct- and indirect-fired rotary kilns can be tailored to your specific thermal treatment needs, with comprehensive testing available on site.
Bulk Material Handling
Keep graphite operations moving seamlessly with our custom bucket elevators, belt conveyors, steep incline, and shuttle conveyors, each designed for clean, efficient handling. Increase system flexibility with the incorporation of belt trippers and plows for multiple discharge points. Belt feeders are available for controlled material metering onto conveyors.
PLANT AND PILOT SCALE PROCESS TESTING AND DESIGN
With consistency and precision being mandatory for any graphite processing facility, testing is often a critical component in the success of process and equipment design. The FEECO Innovation Center is a unique testing facility where we can test your material at both batch and pilot scale in order to work out process variables and design commercial-scale units, as well as scale up the process.
Feasibility/Proof of Concept: An initial, non-witnessed batch testing phase in which the possibility of creating a product is explored.
Proof of Product: A more in-depth batch testing phase in which more time is spent determining whether a product can be made to desired specifications.
Proof of Process: A continuous testing phase that aims to establish the equipment setup and parameters required for continuous production of your specific material.
Process/Product Optimization: An in-depth study to optimize your specific material’s characteristics and/or production parameters in an industrial setting.
