EQUIPMENT

Compost is increasingly being considered as a valuable product for agriculture. As producers look to implement commercial processes, FEECO offers proven technology for transforming compost into a premium fertilizer or soil amendment product.

Material Processing

Mixing, Pelletizing & Granulating

FEECO granulation drums, disc pelletizers (pan granulators), pin mixers, and pugmill mixers are engineered around the unique characteristics of the compost source to provide an optimal mixing, pelletizing, or granulation system. Equipment is available as a single piece, or as part of a complete production line.

Drying

FEECO rotary dryers are a valuable complement to compost granulation operations. With extensive experience in organic materials, FEECO rotary dryers are designed to reach precise moisture content, without overdrying the material and while maintaining product integrity. Drying can also pasteurize and kill pathogens if required.

Bulk Material Handling

FEECO also provides a comprehensive line of bulk material handling equipment for all of your compost handling needs. We offer custom bucket elevators, belt conveyors, reversing shuttle conveyors, and steep incline conveyors, along with equipment to increase the flexibility of your handling system, such as belt trippers and plows, and belt feeders.

We can supply a single piece of handling equipment to fit into your existing process, or a complete bulk handling system as part of an overall process solution.

Plant and Pilot Scale Process Testing and Design

As all sources of compost vary, testing is critical in developing a process that meets the intended goals efficiently and reliably.

The FEECO Innovation Center is well equipped to test a variety of agglomeration techniques and equipment configurations, be it on a single piece of equipment, or a continuous process loop.

Data gathered during testing is then used to design commercial-scale units for production.

We offer comprehensive testing services in four categories:

Feasibility/Proof of Concept: An initial, non-witnessed batch testing phase in which the possibility of creating a product is explored.
Proof of Product: A more in-depth batch testing phase in which more time is spent determining whether a product can be made to desired specifications.
Proof of Process: A continuous testing phase that aims to establish the equipment setup and parameters required for continuous production of your specific material.
Process/Product Optimization: An in-depth study to optimize your specific material’s characteristics and/or production parameters in an industrial setting.
