Antimony Processing Equipment

Equipment

As antimony’s role as a critical mineral for flame retardants, energy storage, and defense applications continues to grow, producers are increasingly focused on efficient processing of stibnite concentrates and antimony oxide products. FEECO provides custom equipment for preparing, drying, and roasting antimony-bearing materials across the value chain.

Mixing & Agglomeration

From stibnite flotation concentrates to recovered antimony oxide fume dust, FEECO agglomeration equipment, including pin mixers, pugmill mixers, disc pelletizers, and agglomeration drums can convert antimony fines into uniform granules that improve handling, reduce dusting, and enhance feed consistency to roasters and smelting furnaces. Disc pelletizers can be equipped with hoods to minimize fugitive emissions and capture valuable antimony oxide dust during processing.

Drying & Cooling

Rotary dryers provide high-capacity, uniform drying of stibnite flotation concentrates for meeting downstream moisture specifications prior to roasting or smelting.

Rotary coolers offer the controlled cooling required for temperature reduction after high-temperature thermal treatment such as roasting, volatilization, or fuming.

Fluid bed dryers are an alternative option when tighter temperature control or gentler drying of fine concentrates is required.

High-Temperature Thermal Treatment

Rotary kilns play a key role in antimony processing by providing the controlled thermal environment required for volatilization roasting of stibnite concentrates, oxidation of antimony sulfides, and fuming processes used to recover antimony oxide. Both direct- and indirect-fired kilns can be tailored to the specific material source and process objectives for optimal recovery and performance.
