2013 is here, and as we officially usher in the new year, now is a great time to look back at 2012 and some of the highlights it brought to FEECO.

This past year, we aimed to educate our readers on many things. Industry news, answers to FAQ’s, and the basic principles behind FEECO products and services. Below are some of 2012’s major highlights.

  • FEECO Lab Upgrade
In 2012, FEECO’s Lab Testing & Tolling Facility underwent a massive upgrade, complete with a new electrical system, and a new control and data acquisition system, which allows for real-time trending, and process optimization. The upgrade was a major success, and added considerable benefits not only for FEECO, but also for customers who utilize the facility.
  • Frac Sand Boom Continues
2012 also saw the continuation of the frac sand boom. Wisconsin holds some of the most valued silica sand available, and the race to acquire it continued in 2012. As a provider of material handling equipment and rotary dryers, FEECO has a court-side seat for providing frac sand operations with processing equipment.
  • Governor Walker Visits FEECO
Amidst a heated debate on mining in the State, Governor Scott Walker visited FEECO to discuss the importance that mining holds for jobs in Wisconsin. With upwards of 35% of our business in the mining industry, FEECO prospers much in part because of mining, providing agglomeration drums for heap leaching processes around the world, as well as material handling equipment, and thermal processing equipment such as rotary dryers and kilns.
  • Rotary Equipment Education
We continued our mission to provide our readers with the best resource for information on rotary dryers, as well as rotary kilns. From basic operating principles, to maintenance, and even choosing the right equipment, 2012 was filled with blog posts and brochures to help readers make informed choices when it comes to rotary equipment.

In addition to the above highlights, FEECO also celebrated its 61st year in business, since its founding in 1951. FEECO also spent the year proudly celebrating and giving back to the community. From the yearly turkey donation to Paul’s Pantry, to the Toys for Tots drive, and even perishable food donations, FEECO employees enjoyed giving back to the community for another great year.
