Join us in celebrating Global Fertilizer Day!

October 13th is Global Fertilizer Day – a day dedicated to recognizing and raising awareness around the critical role fertilizers play in life on Earth.

As a leader in modern fertilizer production, FEECO is proud to continue serving the fertilizer industry with the best in process development services, custom equipment and production lines, and parts and service support.

The October 13th date marks a milestone in history when the Haber-Bosch process – a nitrogen fixation process and the cornerstone of modern fertilizer production – was patented.

Modern fertilizer production has since played a pivotal role in feeding the world and allowing economies to grow and prosper. According to The Fertilizer Institute, two out of every five people in the world owe their lives to the use of fertilizer. Further, fertilizers are credited as being responsible for 50% of global food production. Fertilizers nourish the world, providing nutritious and essential food, while also cultivating the fiber and feed products we depend on.

FEECO was founded to serve the fertilizer industry in 1951. We worked to assist companies in converting their production plants to the new TVA granulation technology, and today, we remain a key resource to the industry. We continue to work with fertilizer producers around the world to develop better fertilizer products and more efficient production lines.

As the global population balloons, fertilizer has never been more important than it is now in meeting food security needs; experts estimate we’ll need to produce 60% more food if we are to feed the world’s predicted population of more than 9 billion people in 2050. More than ever, we must focus on developing advanced, efficient fertilizers to feed the world.

This October 13th, take a minute to appreciate all that fertilizer brings to our lives!
