While FEECO has long had systems in place to ensure our customers receive the highest quality equipment and services, this year we’re making it official; FEECO is working toward ISO 9001:2008 certification.

What Does it Mean to be ISO 9001:2008 Certified?

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization, the largest organization devoted to setting standards in the world. ISO 9001:2008, specifically, sets the standards for an organization’s Quality Management Systems.

While ISO Certification is required in many industries, in others it is voluntary. Becoming ISO 9001:2008 certified voluntarily shows a dedicated commitment to the continual improvement of quality in all that we do.

ISO 9001:2008 certification is granted through meeting the rigorous requirements of eight key principles as defined by the ISO. These principles are summarized below:

1. Customer Focus: An organization should work to exceed customer expectations.
2. Leadership: An organization’s leadership should establish a setting that promotes the active involvement of employees to achieve goals of the organization.
3. Involvement of People: All people in the organization should be motivated and committed to achieving the organization’s goals.
4. Process Approach: Activities and resources are most efficient when managed as a process.
5. System Approach to Management: Interrelated processes should be managed as a system to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Continual Improvement: The organization should always focus on how to keep improving.
7. Factual Approach to Decision Making: Decisions should be well-informed, and made based on a thorough data analysis.
8. Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relationships: An organization should foster mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, in order to create value for both.

What Does this Mean for our Customers?

Our customers have always known that they can expect the best in quality equipment and services from FEECO. Of course, this will not change. What will change is that the activities and processes that go on behind the scenes will continue to become more efficient.

The ISO Certification can also mean peace of mind for our new customers. For those who have not yet learned what it means to work with FEECO, the ISO Certification can provide an added layer of confidence that the company they’re about to entrust with their process and equipment needs is well established, and committed to continual improvement and customer satisfaction.

FEECO has long provided quality equipment and services to exceed our customers’ expectations. We look forward to becoming ISO Certified and are dedicated to the continued improvement of our customer experience. For more information on our quality efforts, see our Commitment to Quality.
