EQUIPMENT

The roofing industry’s largest granule producers rely on FEECO for the best in custom processing equipment. We have extensive experience in providing complete, reliable process systems involving all the necessary rotary equipment, as seen in the flow diagram of a typical granule production line below.

MATERIAL PROCESSING

Thermal Processing

We provide a wide range of thermal processing equipment for all of your roofing granule production needs, including pre-heaters, combustion chambers, rotary dryers (rock dryers), rotary kilns, and rotary coolers.

All of our thermal processing equipment is engineered around the unique characteristics of the material to be processed to ensure an optimal processing solution that will provide a lifetime of reliable processing.

Mixing and Coating

We provide coating drums (coloring drums) for mixing, coloring, and coating applications within the roofing granule industry.

Material Handling

We also offer a comprehensive line of material handling equipment for all of your handling needs. We can provide custom bucket elevators, belt conveyors, reversing shuttle conveyors, and steep incline conveyors, along with pieces to increase the flexibility of your handling system, such as belt trippers and plows, and belt feeders.

We can supply a single piece of handling equipment to fit into your existing process, or a complete handling system as part of an overall process solution.

Process Testing and Design

The FEECO Innovation Center is a unique testing facility where we can test your material to determine the feasibility of your intended process, as well as define process variables and gather valuable data points necessary for scale-up.

The FEECO Innovation Center is well-equipped to suit a wide range of testing needs, from coating to high temperature thermal processing, as well as continuous process loops integrating multiple testing methods.

We offer comprehensive testing services in four categories:

Feasibility/Proof of Concept: An initial, non-witnessed batch testing phase in which the possibility of creating a product is explored.
Proof of Product: A more in-depth batch testing phase in which more time is spent determining whether a product can be made to desired specifications.
Proof of Process: A continuous testing phase that aims to establish the equipment setup and parameters required for continuous production of your specific material.
Process/Product Optimization: An in-depth study to optimize your specific material’s characteristics and/or production parameters in an industrial setting.
