This week’s photo shows two FEECO agglomerators installed at an ore processing facility.

Adding an agglomerator to a heap leaching operation not only increases efficiency, but also maximizes metal recovery, whether the operation is for gold, silver, copper, or nickel ore. These agglomerators work by tumbling crushed ore fines in the rotating drum, creating fines that are more uniform in shape and size, which creates a better percolation of the leaching solution through the heap. This step also allows the leaching process to start early, because the leaching agent can be added during the tumbling, thoroughly mixing the fines with the agent and beginning the leach.

FEECO has been serving the mining industry for over 70 years, providing heavy-duty agglomerators for use in heap leaching processes around the world.
