Photo of the Week: Rotary Dryer with a Grizzly

This week’s photo is a rotary dryer from FEECO’s Fabrication Facility. The end of the drum features a “grizzly;” it is designed to keep over-size material out of the discharge chute. The oversize material, then, falls off the end or stays in the ring until it is broken up.

FEECO’s rotary dryers can process a wide range of materials- potash, DAP, copper, iron, sludge, and more. Because of the broad range of applications, each dryer is customized to suit the needs of the specific process and material. In addition to grizzlies, the following items can be customized for your process:

    • Lifting flights: including flight design and placement inside the drum.
    • Inlet temperatures.
    • Residence times.
    • Counter-current or co-current air flow.
    • Material of construction.
    • And more…
